Solo Show of Zeit Sequentia at a space in Kypseli, Athens (May 2025)
In the luminous calm of a two-level space in Kypseli, Athens, Zeit Sequentia unfolds as a meditation on time and memory. Fifteen small collages and one large collage are arranged sparingly across the sunlit mezzanine and ground floor, giving each piece ample silence and space. The terrazzo floor echoes the collage ethos of piecing together disparate moments. A single large collage commands one wall like a quiet altar to time, while the smaller works punctuate both levels in deliberate solitude, inviting viewers to pause and wander between them.
The installation itself encourages a slower rhythm of looking: candles are placed as soft beacons throughout the space, their gentle glow marking thresholds and subtly guiding the eye from one piece to the next. In the gallery’s bright minimalism, these quiet flames create a sense of ritual, urging a meditative pace. The sparse arrangement and ambient light conjure an atmosphere of hushed contemplation, as if time inside the gallery has decoupled from the frenetic pace outside. This Athens iteration of Zeit Sequentia is a distilled, reflective expression of the project—one that invites slowness, patience, and a quietly attentive engagement with time. In this sanctuary of light and stillness, each collage offers a moment of pause: a chance to linger, listen to the silence between images, and feel the subtle accretion of memory in the sequence of art and hours.
